He served as the first elected Prime minsiter of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile and has dedicated his entire life to preserving Tibetan wisdom, culture, and the integrity of our community.

Rinpoche is admired for his clarity, simplicity, and fearless honesty qualities that are rare in today’s world.

We Tibetans are truly blessed to have someone like you, not only a great spiritual master but also a brave and selfless leader who has guided us with both wisdom and compassion.

I met you only once in my life, yet that one meeting changed everything for me. I did not come to ask for blessings. At that time, I had left my job and my family and flew to India to make a documentary about self-immolations. It was not an easy decision for an ordinary person like me, but I followed my heart, believing that any sacrifice made with pure motivation leads us in the right direction.

When I interviewed you, your peaceful, humble and down to earth presence touched me deeply. In this crazy world, where most people are chasing fame and wealth, I was amazed that you had no interest in becoming famous or rich, even though some Rinpoches today run after fame, wealth and desire. It was hard for me to believe at first, but as the interview went on, I realised that a person like you still exists in this world, someone who truly does not care about fame or money but lives entirely for the benefit of others and for the future of Tibet.

Rinpoche like you is rare in this world. Tibetans should preserve your teachings and example like the wisdom of a sacred library.

You reminded me that true happiness and purpose do not come from fame or recognition but from serving others with sincerity and courage. Your life continues to inspire me to live with more compassion and integrity every day.

Thank you Rinpoche la for being a living example of wisdom and compassion.

Long live Rinpoche la. Kätrin Che from the depth of my heart.
